Oxygen Plants: Operating Principle

The adsorption oxygen plant is a reliable and cost-effective system. The principle of its operation is as follows: in a container filled with an adsorbent, which absorbs nitrogen and others air gases, except oxygen. When the absorbed gases have saturated the adsorbent of the oxygen plant, the air flow is let into the second chamber, while the first one at this time is blown through to clean the adsorbent. Then the cycle repeats.
The adsorption oxygen plant offers low energy consumption and high purity of generated oxygen, about 95%. Besides, the adsorption oxygen plant has small sizes, quickly reaches the operating conditions, and is sufficiently automatic (easily operated by one person). Furthermore, the plant is environment friendly.
The membrane oxygen plant uses hollow fibre membranes. They consist of a multitude of hollow tubes which keep nitrogen inside, while oxygen permeates the walls of these tubes. The membrane oxygen plant produces oxygen of 50% purity. Such oxygen is applied in welding and metal cutting, fish farming and for other breeding purposes.
Oxygen equipment on the basis of the membrane technology is the most reliable source of oxygen. The service life of a membrane is over 10 years, and it is easily replaced. Usually the membrane oxygen plant is scalable. If required, its output parameters can be increased through simple modification of the plant.

Oxygen equipment requires strict security measures compilance. Key aspects:

• open fire related works must be produced not closer to oxygen equipment than 10 meters;
• alter oxygen pressure only with the use of blue-marked manometers;
• output oxygen pressure must be within 10 atm;
• oxygen plant must be served only by trained personnel.
